AUTHOR’S NOTE

Life to me is about the choices we make. It’s important for all of us to grow and learn from our mistakes, but the hard truth is we all must live with those choices, good and bad. Our choices can make our lives joyful and more fulfilling or leave us with pain, waste, and heartache. This theme among others is a driving force within the West of the Divide Series of books, where the characters are faced with difficult decisions at a time when choice is driven by events that have thrown the world into chaos.

Three years ago, I wrote my first novel. At the time, I had no idea that there would be more books and that they would evolve into a series. It was a struggle at first but as the stories began to unfold the easier it became. I have recently completed my fifth and am working on the sixth book.

Each one of the novels involve the lives of the same family beginning in the nineteenth century and ending in the twenty-first. The lives of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren may overlap and because of that I don’t believe the books need to be read in sequence. The life of each character is unique; their experiences, struggles and dreams carry them forward. The backbone they all share is family.

This has truly been a magical experience for me. It is as if the lives within these pages were simply waiting for someone to take the time to share them. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so.
